Sprinkler Repair & Service- Schedule Your Sprinkler Winterization

Sprinkler Repair & Service- Schedule Your Sprinkler Winterization

Its September and time to start thinking about getting your sprinkler system properly winterized.  Even supposedly “self-draining” systems still need winterized and can have extensive damage from water freezing when not properly maintained.  Systems need to have all water evacuated with a compressor capable of providing a minimum of 100 CFM (cubic feet per minute) at a minimum of 80 PSI.  The air compressors which fit this catergory are usually tow behind diesel air compressors.

At A Better Garden we make sure your sprinkler system is winterized correctly.  Each lawn sprinkler zoneis activated to allow water to be blown through and out of the irrigation system.  The system is considered winterized when all the water has been blown through the system and out through the drain at the main shut-off.  Ball valves are rotated while air is passing through to ensure water is not caught in a seal-able area within the ball valve.  All ball valves, including petcocks, will be left at a 45 degree angle to allow any water to escape instead of causing damage.  And to finish, the controller is place in the “Off” position.

Call us or fill out the contact form below to get scheduled to have your system winterized.  We begin winterizing sprinkler systems October 7th.  Setup your appointment now!
